BDKC Fall 2020 Scent Detection Trial

The end of a long happy day.

I was pleased to be a judge for the first ever Belleville and District Kennel Club Scent Trial. It was held on Oct 4th 2020 in Belleville. We have a dedicated group of volunteers who, despite the COVID precautions, made the day go smoothly. Thank you to Pat Hunt, Hillary Leighton, Valorie,  Adrienne Almey and our newest inductee Lynsey Mossop.
Huge congratulations to all of the competitors. No matter if you passed or failed, you all did an amazing job and Ihopefully we all learned something. It was wonderful to see the warm working relationships you have with your dogs. I hope everyone else had as nice a day as I did.

  2019 CKC Sanction Match

Sept 28 2019 we held our first ever CKC Sanction Scent match. Rose Brown was the judge, Pat Hunt acted as Event Chair and judges assistant/ scent prep, Adrienne Almay Secretary. Hillary Leighton and Valarie filled ALL of the other roles! We could not have had such a successful event without the help of everyone involved and our wonderful competitors. 
Instinct, Novice, Advanced and Excellent Classes were offered. The dogs and handlers challenge themselves and took the opportunity to enter a multiple classes! It was great experience for everyone. the venue is huge so there is lots of roomto ensure no residual scent was present.
